Treatment of shoulder pain varies as much as the condition itself. Most medical treatments will include surgery or corticosteroid injections. In our opinion these options should be reserved as a ‘last resort’. We recommend these options be very last as recovery from the surgery is longer and the effects not as lasting as hoped for. Honestly, surgery is often not needed as is only recommended when all other treatment options have failed.
Simple treatments such as joint articulation adjustments and motion restoration are all that is needed to bring relief to the nerves, muscles and tendons that are feeling the pressure. The use of Ultrasound, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and rehabilitative exercise may be used to decrease symptoms and restore function.
